The internet is slowly overpowering public libraries and its at the brink of its extinction. Libraries have been very helpful before the internet age. But, since cyberspace started, people tend to do research using the internet. The reason? According to a most recent survey, the internet is more reliable and convenient; just one click at the comfort of your own home and you can find all the resources that you need. Nowadays, library goers are decreasing in number. Do we really need libraries in the future? Or, the internet is more than enough to find all the resources that you need? When I was young I go to libraries as often as possible to look for great finds and latest release of books. But, now that I have time warner roadrunner internet as our ISP, you can get whatever ISP available in your area, I even tell my son to stay at home and just use the computer for his research work instead of heading to the public library a few blocks away from our place. I know most parents do the same thing. But, come to think of it, is it really the best option instead of going to libraries?
