Many people are firm believers that cow’s milk is somehow the holy grail of food and you will never be able to change their minds. We really need to educate ourselves about milk allergies and lactose intolerances, especially when it pertains to children. One main reason why cow’s milk isn’t that great for you is that it was made for cows, not humans. Secondly, if you are not consuming magnesium along with cow milk, you are not benefiting from the calcium.

Many nondairy foods can be substituted for milk or milk products. Be aware, however, that just because a food is labeled “nondairy,” it does not necessarily mean that it is milk free. That’s why it’s always important to read all food labels when you have a family members that are allergic to milk.

I found a great blog that contains other useful information on eating healthy.
